The Nines
No Promises is dressed "to the nines" in our slick 2019 release, featuring jazz standards spanning a century of musical gems. Kicking of with an homage to the beloved John Coltrane interpretation of "My Favorite Things," the group's musical theatre stripes are also on display with a crafty treatment of the Gershwins' 1930s classic "Nice Work If You Can Get It," featuring a rare and charming lead vocal from baritone Jeff Grooms. Bass Nat Comisar relishes a fond childhood memory with his lift of George Shearing's decadent piano arrangement of "Over The Rainbow." A favorite ballad among our live concert fans, the Andy Williams / Breakfast at Tiffany's classic "Moon River" receives a rich studio velvet with lead vocal by Broadway veteran David Baum. The project wraps with an unexpected bossa re-imagination of the Panic at the Disco hit "Death of a Bachelor," featuring the impressively rangy vocals of opera crossover artist Schyler Vargas.
"The Nines" features the voices of Joshua Steele, Charlie Harper, David Baum, Jeff Grooms, Matt Croy and Nat Comisar, with special guest artists Noah Berry, Kyle Karnes and Schyler Vargas.
